BACK TO SCHOOL, NOT BACK TO RISK

As families gear up for a new school year, it is easy to overlook what is happening at home. But August and September are two of the most active months for weather related damage, especially in the Southeast and Mid Atlantic regions.

While you are buying supplies and adjusting schedules, we are here to remind you that preparation at home is just as important as preparation in the classroom.

WEATHER LESSONS YOU DO NOT WANT TO LEARN THE HARD WAY

From hurricanes to hidden leaks, here are a few situations no homeowner wants to deal with.

  • Pop up storms can create pop up claims. Sudden downpours and flash floods are common this time of year.

  • Late summer storms often cause trees to lose limbs, which can clog gutters and damage shingles. Schedule a roof and gutter inspection now to clear debris, identify weak spots, and prevent costly interior water damage.

  • With kids and parents out of the house during the day, small water leaks or electrical surges can go unnoticed and grow into much larger problems.
