In Florida, Texas, and the Carolinas, hurricane season officially begins TODAY, June 1st. Even PA and NJ see severe summer storms, including flash floods and hail. Now is the time to:
Review your insurance policy. Know your coverage limits, wind/hail deductibles, and whether flood insurance applies.
Take photos of your property now. Pre-storm condition documentation is crucial in a future claim.
Check your roof, gutters, and siding. Ensure drainage is clear and shingles are secure. Loose siding and clogged gutters are the first to give way during strong winds.
Protect electronics and valuables. Use surge protectors and store key documents in waterproof containers or cloud storage.
